I used to be a huge microwave popcorn for dinner chef,
after all, it takes a very special skill to pop all of the kernels
without burning them...In the two to five minutes it takes to
microwave the popcorn, you could have heated a homemade pre-cooked meal
or even made an entree salad.Sunday's are my cooking days. I put
aside about three hours and make 3-4 meals for the week. Some I may put
in the freezer depending on my schedule during the week and the
remainder of the meals in the refrigerator. I am very ambitious andcreative, I may put together my lunches for the week. It saves time
later in the weekwhen I am very busy and is not only kind to my pocket book, but allows me to eat healthier than deciding at noon when I am
starving what will be thefastest lunch to pick up.
For variety, even if you are eating the same entree, change up the sides and the meal feels new.
The
cooking times for the recipes posted may vary slightly and are
approximate since ovens and stoves vary in btu's, age, and gas vs.
electric. Cooking isn't a science. Have fun! Experiment. The
advantage of cooking for one is that only you will know if the meal
didn't turn out the way you planned. Another advantage of cooking for
one is that you can have breakfast for dinner, eat the same meal every
night or try any new item you see in the grocery store. Often when
cooking for other's there is someone who doesn't like this vegetable or
will only eat chicken or won't eat fish. When cooking for yourself, you
don't need to adjust for someone else and can eat fresh foods daily.
